Om kunstnere
Linn Lervik (f. 1976, Tønsberg) er en billedkunstner som arbeider med lyd- og lysinstallasjoner, skulptur og tegning. Hun er utdannet skulptør fra Chelsea College of Art and Design (BA, 2001), og arbeidet i perioden 2007-2017 med kunstnerinitiativet Atopia. I 2017 fullførte hun en mastergrad i Kunst og offentlige rom ved Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Kunstnerskapet hennes er drevet av en interesse for det stedsspesifikke, for steders rytmer, arkitektur og historie. Hun bor og arbeider på Nesodden. De siste årene har Lervik hatt separatutstillinger i Kongsberg kunstforening, Skiens kunstforening og Norsk Billedhoggersforenings visningsrom Prosjektrom Carl Berner. Hun har også deltatt på en rekke gruppeutstillinger, deriblant Høstutstillingen 2024. Utover egen kunstnerisk praksis har Lervik i flere år samarbeidet med Farhad Kalantary om en serie skulpturer kalt STEIN. Siden 2018 har de realisert to kunstverk i Oslo med plassering i det offentlige rom: kunstnerinitiativet STEIN, Bentsebrua på Sagene og STEIN, Øvre Slottsgate for Skulptursonen Øvre Slottsgate. Begge skulpturene er del av Oslo kommunes kunstsamling. I 2023 ferdigstilte de en skulptur til Arendal interkommunale legevakt, og de jobber i dag med en ny skulptur til Akershus universitetssykehus.
Farhad Kalantary (Tabriz - Iran, 1962) is a filmmaker and visual artist working with photography, sound, video installations, and sculptural projects in public space. Kalantary studied installation and filmmaking at San Francisco Art Institute (MFA, 1996), film and video at San Francisco State University (BA, 1992) and video production at Laney College, Oakland (1987-89). Kalantary works in a non-narrative context combining the intuitive approach with an investigation of formal and historical aspects of his media. His film and video works are concerned with the poetics of everyday life as they explore the potentiality of the moving image and the relationship of sound and image. His topics of previous research works include the history of film and video art in Norway, and the ways in which different places influence our perception of the world. Kalantary’s works have been shown widely around the country and abroad and they are part of the collections of Moderna museum in Stockholm, Art Council Norway and the art collections of Oslo, Lørenskog and Arendal Municipalities. Kalantary was the co-founder and artistic leader of Atopia: film-video kunst (2003-17) in Oslo. He has also been working as a Board or Jury member with various art organizations in the country including Fond for lyd og bilde (2020-23), Nordic Art Center, Dale (2023-25), KUNSTKANTEN 2024, Bodø, Bærum kunsthall (2025), Lorck Schive kunstpris (2023- ) and Tenthaus, Oslo (2025- ). Kalantary lives and works in Nesodden.
